Le Rally Club Mühlviertel, organizer of the Austrian Jännerrallye event, which opens the seasonERC for several seasons, has decided to no longer organize the rally, despite the contract with Eurosport running until 2018. Excluding any financial problem, the steering committee notably puts forward the fact that the promoter of the European Championship Eurosport Events, in agreement with the FIA and the International Motor Sports Federation, do not produce a clear calendar in August.
An increase and a still significant risk in terms of costs, as well as a repeated drop in the number of employees are among the other reasons given. The committee felt that it was not expecting any positive developments on the various points stated.
