Alexey Lukyanuk (Ford Fiesta R5) is the new leader of the Rally from the Canary Islands (Spain) after taking advantage of a problem from Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Fiesta R5). The reigning European champion lost half a minute in the 13,9 km Galdar for a still unknown reason and is now two seconds behind the Russian. Luis Monzon Artilles (DS 3 R5) took third place, 22 seconds ahead of Robert Consani (Peugeot 208 T16 R5). Hermen Kobus (Skoda Fabia R5) retired while in fifth position after hitting a tree head-on.
Alexey Lunkyanuk has a 36-second lead over Kajetan Kajetanowicz at the end of the following special. The Pole lost time after destroying his tires following a pressure error and happily welcomes mid-stage service.
