Loïc Duval at the Rallye du Var

Winner of 24 hours of Le Mans and World Champion WEC in 2013, Loïc duval was recruited by Peugeot to participate in the Sochaux manufacturer's new endurance program with the brand new 9X8. While waiting for the first laps of the Hypercar designed and developed by engineers from Peugeot Sport, Loïc Duval will discover the world of rally on the occasion of the Rallye du Var. The driver from Chartres will be at the start of the last round of the French Rally Championship with a 208 Rally4 and will be co-driven for the occasion by Gwénola Marie.

If it is one of the absolute references in Endurance, the Peugeot Sport driver throws himself into the unknown with this participation in the Var rally. “For me, rally drivers are amazing at doing what they do, much more so than us on the circuit! Of course I know asphalt but not in these conditions! And when I see the drivers in Finland, in Australia, in Mexico, in these conditions, with changes of grip, jumps, high speeds, and this relationship with the co-driver, where you have to have blind trust, I really admire it, explains Loïc Duval. I know that in the heritage and DNA of Peugeot Sport, there is a lot of rallying, whether in rally raid with the Dakar or the entire history of the brand in WRC. When it was offered to me, I immediately said yes because it’s something that could be extremely interesting. It's quite hard to imagine exactly what I'm going to discover, but I think it will be a great experience. I'm going there with an open mind to discover this new category and this new car in the best possible way. » 

Before tackling the legendary stages of Collobrières, Pignans or Notre Dame des Anges, Duval will have had the opportunity to discover the 208 Rally4 during a test session carried out with technicians from Peugeot Sport and Lycée Saint -Vallier.
