Alexey Lukyanuk (Ford Fiesta R5) lost the lead Rally of the Azores. The Russian stopped for almost ten minutes to repair his damaged car on the front right in SS12 and thus left the lead of the event to local driver Bruno Magalhaes (Skoda Fabia R5). The Portuguese nevertheless only has a lead of 9 seconds over his compatriot Ricardo Moura (Ford).

Marijan Griebel (Skoda) climbs onto the provisional podium following the stop of Nikolay Gryazin (Skoda) on the same course. Jan Cerney (Skoda) and Josh Moffett (Ford) complete the new top five of the event.
