The Police discovered that a storekeeper at the Vélizy factory was embezzling Peugeot parts WRC so that they can be resold by an accomplice, a mechanic in Morangis (Essonne), at unbeatable prices. The two men thus misappropriated a million euros worth of spare parts, resold for 10% of their value. The Police were able to discover the fraud by getting their hands on a hijacked turbo on a Peugeot 307 WRC during the last Rally du Touquet. The owner of the 307 having revealed the place of purchase of the element, the investigators were able to trace it back to the mechanic.
