Although missing out on first place in the general classification in rally Terre de Vaucluse by a tiny tenth of a second, Simon Jean-Joseph won the title of French gravel rally champion. In five appearances, the Martinican driver has won three times, and finished once second and once third. His well-deserved title is obviously to be shared with his teammate Jack Boyère as well as with the 2C Compétition team, which prepared a Peugeot 207 S 2000 free from all worries.

Crushing very hard at the end of the race in order to counter the rise of ??Manu?? Gascou, Stéphane Chambon took first place in the last special, ahead of Jean-Joseph by a tenth! Chambon had not raced his Subaru Impreza Group 2 for two years, but demonstrated that he had lost none of his legendary ??big heart??? As for “Manu” Gascou, he could console himself with a well-deserved title of vice-champion of France.
