2019 German Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won the 87th pole of his career by winning qualifying for the German GP despite his unwell condition. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completes the first row more than 3 tenths behind. Valltteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) follow on the second row ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) and Romain Grosjean (Haas). The Frenchman is ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren) and Sergio Pérez (Racing Point).
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) was unable to qualify following a problem with the fuel system.
It was a problem with the fuel system that caused Leclerc's breakdown.
Hamilton (Mercedes) does not improve but still takes pole at the German GP ahead of Verstappen (Red Bull). Bottas (Mercedes) and Gasly (Red Bull) form the 2nd row ahead of Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo), Grosjean (Haas), Sainz Jr (McLaren), Pérez (Racing Point), Hülkenberg (Renault) and Leclerc (Ferrari) who are not was unable to qualify.
The checkered flag is presented to the pilots.
Most of the drivers are on track for one last attempt.
Pérez (Racing Point) climbs to 6th place between Grosjean (Haas) and Sainz Jr (McLaren).

Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) is the first eliminated from Q2 of the German GP. The Italian failed by a hundredth of a second from Sergio Pérez (Racing Point). He precedes Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Lance Stroll (Racing Point).
The French are qualified for Q3. Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) took the 3rd time ahead of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and his teammate Max Verstappen who suffered from turbo response time problems. Romain Grosjean (Haas) set the 9th time. It was Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who set the benchmark time on medium tires with a lap completed in 1'12''1, 2 tenths ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).
Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) was the first to be eliminated, ahead of Magnussen (Haas), Ricciardo (Renault), Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Stroll (Racing Point).
As the end of the session approaches, the Renaults are in the elimination zone with Hülkenberg 12th and Ricciardo 14th. Pérez (Racing Point) is the first in danger just behind the Alfa Romeos of Räikkönen and Giovinazzi.
Verstappen (Red Bull) sets the 4th fastest time, half a tenth behind his teammate Gasly. The Dutchman still complains about a problem with the turbo response time.
Verstappen (Red Bull) is able to restart for a flying lap at full speed 3 minutes from the end of the session.
Verstappen (Red Bull) has returned to the track but remains at a very reduced pace.
