In Dijon, last confrontation before the holidays!

A race on the Dijon-Prenois circuit always has a slightly special flavor. Many people enjoy riding here, on this magnificent track which, moreover, echoes the finest days of motorsport (and motorcycling) in France. This is why, for many years, Eric Van de Vyver and his organizational team have put Dijon on the V de V series calendar.

In Dijon, last confrontation before the holidays!

It is therefore with great pleasure that we are returning to Burgundy, and that the paddocks will come alive from June 27 for the preparation of this fourth V de V weekend. Endurance Series 2013.

Just like during the last meeting, held on the Paul Ricard circuit, all the sprint and endurance categories will meet in Dijon to compete again before the summer period interrupts this 2013 season. , the championship is well underway! During the last meeting, the battle was fierce in each of the categories, and in the end, we could see some changes of leaders in the rankings. Be careful, because the number 1 spot is fragile! You only need to look at the points differences to see that it is impossible to designate a single leader at this stage of the championship. Among the GTs, the Porsche d?IMSA Performance Matmut and Crubile Sport are side by side, while the Ferrari Visiom is only a handful of points behind. GTV 2 or GTV 3, it's almost the same analysis, always with the pleasure of seeing cars from different brands compete on the track, and drivers from various origins, gentlemen drivers or professionals. In the prototype sports championship, it is just as close and interesting to follow. The leading teams are not immune to some problems, and certain absences at the finish can be costly in the general classification. CD Sport, TFT, Palmyr, the Normas monopolize the first places in the table, but it is also sometimes in the absence of certain cars during the last races. So watch out for the return of the Wolf and Tatuus in the next rounds, without forgetting the Ligier of Philippe Alliot who are not there to make up the numbers. In the VHC, we always talk about endurance with two-hour races, even if the equation is a little different with these good old mechanics which you have to know how to take care of. In any case, it is a field of exceptional cars which evolve before the eyes of spectators and in the hands of passionate drivers.
There remains the two sprint challenges of these V de V Endurance Series, which are also gaining momentum with more and more entrants at the start, and drivers who are not really able to decide between themselves. There are a few usual leaders there, who have already shone in past seasons, but other names also stand out, sometimes even with less efficient cars on paper; this is particularly what we were able to observe in the Challenge Single seat. In Dijon, the two categories combined, we will witness a total of 7 races (3 in single-seaters and 4 in Funyo), which will set the pace for this weekend at the end of June, between the different endurance rounds .
The Dijon-Prenois circuit offers a fast and rhythmic layout, which requires constant attention to avoid losing precious tenths in qualifying. In the race, it is also the tires that you will have to pay attention to, managing to preserve them throughout the relays on this abrasive bitumen track. Since we are talking about tires, the Funyos will be able to fit the Michelin S410 here for the first time, rubbers first developed for the Endurance Proto championship cars, and which have been adapted to the Funyos to continue overall development. within the V de V Endurance Series. The drivers will also have the opportunity to test them at length with the three practice sessions on Friday and these 4 rounds spread between Saturday and Sunday.

Behind the scenes, we should also have a good time, because the atmosphere is always friendly within the V de V Endurance Series, but also because the organizers? program is full. As always in Dijon, it's also sun and party before the holidays, and the Monster Energy team will be there to set the mood during the weekend, without forgetting to distribute drinks to visitors and the public. For drivers and teams, Friday will be an opportunity to get together during the private evening organized by V de V Sports and the Ricard group.
In the paddock village, various exhibitors will be present, including the clothing brand Costume Carbone which will present all of its 2013 collections. Activities will also take place throughout the weekend, and an exhibition car park will bring together the most beautiful supercars of the moment, just to offer spectators elements of comparison between the cars that evolve on the track and some of their “civilian” versions.

See you on Friday June 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday June 30 on the Dijon-Prenois circuit!
