Esteban Ocon stands out above the rest in FR 2.0 testing

Esteban Ocon (ART Junior Team) remained the fastest at the end of the second day of testing at the Catalunya circuit. The morning was disrupted by showers limiting the driving of the drivers, but the conditions improved in the afternoon, allowing the teams to put on the new Formula Renault 2.0 on slicks so that the hunt for lap times can resume. In this game, it was once again Esteban Ocon who moved to the top of the timesheet by completing the Barcelona circuit in 1'43"612.

Pierre Gasly is the closest, ending the day just 23 thousandths behind. The Tech 1 Racing driver is ahead of Guilherme Silva (Koiranen GP) who is only a tenth behind. “The collective tests at Motorland Aragón were not good for us. But we had worked on the pit stops and starts,” explains the Brazilian. At Paul Ricard we were constantly in the top 5. In Barcelona we did a lot of race simulations and we finished these tests with the third best time. This bodes well for the championship. » Oliver Rowland (Manor MP Motorsport) and Matthieu Vaxivière (Tech 1 Racing) complete the top five, the Frenchman three tenths behind the reference time and ahead of his compatriot Alex Baron (ART Junior Team) by five hundredths.

The final test session of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 will take place on the Red Bull Ring on April 15 and 16.
