FR 3.5 – Norman Nato convinced Dams

The teams have barely packed up their equipment for the winter at Alcaniz on November 24, but the Dams team is already set on its pair of drivers for next season of the FR 3.5 Series. If the Brazilian Lucas Foresti had little chance of being retained by Jean-Paul Driot's team, we could imagine seeing Arthur Pic again at the wheel of one of the Le Mans single-seaters. This will not be the case because the French driver of the team will be Norman Nato, very lively during his first three experiences in the discipline, first with Arden Caterham, two days after the Barcelona final, then at Alcaniz during so-called “rookies” tests.

Dams should announce its other starter for the Word Series by Renault At the beginning of next week. In the meantime, we are delighted for Nato, who will be able to spend a very peaceful month of December and refine his winter preparation before the first collective tests scheduled for the end of February.

Jean-Paul Driot, CEO of DAMS:
« It?s a pleasure to welcome and give a chance to a new young French talent in the team. Norman had a great career in karting and he quickly progressed in car. The test he did in our car was very convincing, both in terms of his times and his approach with the engineers and the team. We are therefore delighted to entrust him with a wheel for next season and I am sure that it will not take long for him to show himself at the forefront. »

Norman Nato:
« Of course, I am very happy to join the DAMS team, which I thank for its trust. It is a great team, with enormous experience and recognized know-how, without forgetting a very high level technical staff. She won a number of titles in different categories and for me it was the best possible package in the discipline. Obviously, the performance gap between FR 3.5 and FR 2.0 is very wide. Especially in terms of power and acceleration. But I'm happy with the November tests, I adapted well and I achieved consistent performances in the top 6. Like any driver, I race to win and I will try to do that next season. But realistically, I'm going to focus on learning the Formula 3.5 and make sure to progress as quickly as possible. Until the next tests, in February, I will be doing a lot of physical preparation to be ready on the big day. I can't wait for the 2013 season to start! Finally, I would like to thank the RC Formula team who made me race this year as well as the FFSA and my partners, the Segond Group and Enzo Hôtels who supported me a lot. »
