FR3.5 – Magnussen shows his pretensions to Spielberg

Kevin Magnussen set the best time in free practice for the FR 3.5 Series at Spielberg by setting the best time during the second session held this afternoon. By completing the lap of the Austrian circuit in 1'17"055, the Dane who set the best time on the first day of testing at Silverstone distinguished himself again by beating his closest rival Marco Sorensen (Lotus) by almost a tenth. Christophe Zanella (ISR) completes the top three ahead of Nigel Melker (Tech 1 Racing) and Sergey Sirotkin (ISR).

Arthur Pic (AV Formula) moved up to sixth place ahead of Antonio Félix da Costa (Arden Caterham), also present at young driver tests in Great Britain, Marlon Stockinger and Oliver Webb (Fortec Motorsports). Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne (Fortec Motorsports) only set the tenth fastest time in practice even though he was only six tenths behind the best time of the day, the gaps being particularly tight on the Spielberg track. .
