Started in pole position, Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus) lets his teammate René Binder lose the lead at the start before regaining it when braking in Les Combes.
The two Lotuses then comfortably lead the race ahead of Diego Menchaca (Fortec Motorsport), Alfonso Celis Jr and Matevos Isaakyan.
Celis was the first to stop to change tires, two laps before Fittipaldi stalled on the restart and lost precious seconds in the pits, as well as any chance of victory.
Binder, however, cannot return to the forefront, now ahead of the track by Matevos Isaakyan, passed through the stands a few moments earlier.
At the end of the pit stops, Isaakyan leads the top 3 ahead of Binder and Celis while Fittipaldi is only eighth and must once again begin a comeback.
At the checkered flag, the top 3 remained unchanged and Matevos Isaakyan won his first race of the season ahead of René Binder and Alfonso Celis Jr. Roy Nissany (RP Motorsport) and Diego Menchaca completed the top 5 and Fittipaldi finished sixth, more than twenty seconds behind of the leader.
