Evan Giltaire, you are the 2023 champion from F4 France. How do you feel ?

It’s exceptional, quite honestly. I worked hard this winter and throughout the season, with the good people around me who I thank. It's incredible, especially as a rookie. I am very happy.

You're also making quite a comeback to win this title. How much do you believe in it?

I have come a long way, notably after Lédenon where I left with a delay of 14 points which then increased to 28 after having lost the procedure in court (concerning the result of Race 3, the victory of which ultimately went to Enzo Peugeot . Editor’s note). Finally, I managed to win the championship in the last race. This is exceptional. I didn't have the pressure of the title when I arrived here. People put a lot of obstacles in my way. I knew what I had to do. I wanted to finish on the best possible note, winning races without thinking about winning the title. But I understood on Saturday evening that there was something to play for. When I arrived at the start of the weekend I had great determination. So I gave everything and it paid off.

You started from pole position twice this weekend and you never lost the advantage. How satisfied are you with your services?

I wasn't necessarily good at starts. This is actually one of my weak points of the season. However, those of the two races on Saturday were good. On the other hand, that of this Sunday, the last, was a little more complicated. My reaction time wasn't incredible and we couldn't see the lights of the fire well in the sun. Arriving at the first corner I saw that Kevin (Foster) was a little ahead of me so I braked as late as possible and managed to get back in front. It was then a serpentine path up to the Mistral straight from which I came out in the lead. I knew then what I had to do. I sped away while trying to make as few mistakes as possible and without looking in the mirrors.

How does the rest of your career look like after winning the title?

My goal is FRECA. I don't know who with yet. Discussions are underway and there should be an announcement soon. But at the moment, there is nothing official.
