A time to adapt, another to progress. This is how the two days of driving can be summarized Theo Pourchaire in Super Formula. To complete his participation in the rookie tests of the Japanese championship car, the Grassois had a very good Thursday, first placing in the Top 5 before finishing at the gates during the afternoon session. All on a dry track.

At the wheel of the Team Impul single-seater, the 2023 champion of Formula 2 started the day with the 4e time of the morning session. In two hours of driving, Théo Pourchaire completed no less than 31 laps, making him the most active driver on the track. In terms of performance, he recorded his best attempt in 1'37"655, 0"559 behind the benchmark of Tadasuke Makino (Dandelion Racing).

In the afternoon, the Sauber protégé continued his progress and gained more than a second on his best time, confirming his good adaptation to Super Formula. This time, the Tricolore turned 39 times with a quick reference recorded in 1'36"586 just 0"290 from Kamui Kobayashi (Team KCMG).

Friday, a new day of driving is on the program but Théo Pourchaire will not participate, giving way to Oliver Rasmussen.

The first experience completed, Théo Pourchaire will now begin the period of negotiations with a view to a full-time arrival in Super Formula next year. “ It's a very competitive championship, completely different from a championship in Europe and with cars faster than F2 and which are closer to the F1 like power steering, etc.…he told us recently. It's a car that can allow me to continue to evolve. The fact that there are not many meetings throughout the year would give me the opportunity to be available more often in Europe for my reservist duties at Sauber. I hope this can come to fruition. The decision should be made soon »
