Thibaut Courtois soon involved in motorsport?

Thibaut Courtois has never hidden his love for motorsport and in particular Formula 1. It is indeed not uncommon to see him on the Grand Prix grid in recent years and even as a participant in sim racing events as was the case during the pandemic in 2020. But the team's goalkeeper Belgian national team now seems to be taking the plunge.

Our confreres Spanish sports daily Marca report that Thibaut Courtois has taken on the challenge of creating his own Formula 4 team. The project is even underway according to the Iberian media which indicates that the goalkeeper has already found a name for his team – TC Racing – and has started the process of recruiting engineers and mechanics to refine its next single-seaters.

The Belgian's motivation would be significant since he would like to try to participate in certain rounds of the current season, in Spain or the United Arab Emirates, before the real debut in 2024. For his project, Thibaut Courtois, who did not not yet heard from any driver for the next campaign, would rely on the advice of Roberto Merhi, who passed through Formula 1 in 2015 with Manor.

Concerning the championship, the native of Brée and TC Racing would be open to anything according to Marca. However, the most logical thing would be to get involved in F4 Spain since the football player lives there and this would allow him to monitor the project more closely. One track can already be ruled out, the one leading to F4 France. Indeed, the French championship has the particularity of not having teams in its ranks to allow its foes to fight on equal terms. So what will be the choice? The answer will certainly be in a few weeks.
