We asked Midjourney to imagine the Tesla Model 2

The exercise reveals popular consciousness. By asking an artificial intelligence tool to imagine a character, a landscape, a logo or, in this case, a future Tesla, this tool is not inventing anything. It rides on our already well-defined vision of things.

The term “artificial intelligence” is overused because the processors and algorithms behind its creations are not endowed with emotion or a referee. They synthesize existing knowledge and make differentiated use of it from a Wikipedia page or other, but will not be able to “invent” anything strictly speaking. They understand the mechanisms of human thought, grasp what works using statistical tools (comedian jokes, the scenario of a successful thriller, the Pixar or Disney drawing line, etc.), so many things that frighten nevertheless certain creative universes like the recent screenwriters' strike in Hollywood the shows.

Despite everything, artificial intelligence promises to revolutionize our daily lives in the coming years. Tesla wants, in the long term, to replace, for example, its employees with an army of humanoid robots with the capacity for well-supervised initiative. Elon Musk, the megalomaniac boss, makes no secret of it: “ Tomorrow, working will be a choice, no longer a need“. Are you afraid of the world to come? U.S. too !

At Mobiwisy, we wanted to take the test, so as not to remain stupid. We therefore created an account on the ultra-media and controversial site of the moment, midjourney. He is the new satan of graphic designers, the one by whom an entire industry is threatened. The gratuity and immediacy of the creations are astounding.

Once you have the tool – not easy! – somewhat assimilated, we started. And to the question “ /imagine Prompt a baby tesla Model 2, with four doors, smaller than a Model 3“, then with a few other indications such as the exterior color or the orientation of the design (front or rear), Midjourney delivered its ideas to us in less than 11 seconds!

Here are two iterations, the first, red, being indicative of the idea that a computer has of our vision of a Tesla. A cubic vehicle inspired by the next Cybertruck pick-up and that a 5-year-old child would have imagined. Midjourney nevertheless hit the nail on the head, as the latest rumors point to a Model 2 with a design very closely linked to the Cybertruck in order to be immediately identifiable. Tesla will survive thanks to its ability to stand out from its competitors.

The second hypothesis, gray and from behind, is more classic, a sort of Model 3 actually smaller in size. And you, which one could have come from your imagination?
