24h Nürburgring – Mercedes and Haribo Racing at the forefront

Six hours have passed since the 15:30 p.m. green light in the Eifel, but the actual race time was much reduced on track at the Nürburgring this Saturday afternoon. The cause was the weather sometimes turning cataclysmic with a hail storm largely disrupting the progress of the event and forcing the officials to display the red flag for three hours.

Several competitors made mistakes when the rain and hail arrived, and some cars stopped on the track, unable to progress. A lull around 20 p.m. allowed the race to restart behind the safety car.

If the Mercedes Black Falcon's No. 3 AMG-GT9 led the restart, the German GT quickly losing positions to the No. 6 Schubert Motorsport BMW M3 GT18 and the No. 22 ROWE Racing sister car.

The first real driver changes took place a few minutes ago, and Mercedes and BMW are still fighting for the lead, with the #3 Mercedes AMG-GT88 in control after the engine failure of the #6 BMW M3 GT18 5 from Schubert Motorsport a few moments ago. The top XNUMX is occupied by Mercedes while the first Porsche 911 GT3 R from Manthey Racing n°912 is in sixth place.

The first Audi R8 LMS, the number 2 of Team WRT, is provisionally ranked 9th ahead of the number 6 example of Audi Sport Team Phoenix. The reigning No. 8 Audi R1 LMS is 13th. Remember that the No. 911 Porsche 3 GT911 R from Estre – Tandy – Bamber – Pilet quickly retired after Tandy's accident.
