The (re)new Audi on Italian lands

Triple champion (2017, 2019, 2020), René Rast had no longer won in DTM for 587 days. The speedy German corrected this anomaly at Imola by winning Race 1 from pole position, ahead of another Audi, that of Nico Mueller. Behind them, Mirko Bortolotti put on a show. Only 16th on the grid following a penalty for using an incorrect set of tires
