Thomas Preining two (small) points from the coronation

• From the start of the race, Thomas Preining took control of the race. He is followed by Olsen and Engelhart's Lamborghini! The start of the race is, as is often the case at Hockenheim, a little turbulent, but there are no major problems to report.

• René Rast is at the head of a furious group for the gain of a place in the top 10, the drivers do not hesitate to approach the corners of the Hockenheim stadium 3 or 4 abreast.

• After 6' of racing, Thomas Preining has not really distanced himself from the rest of the other drivers, he is only three tenths ahead of his teammate Dennis Olsen. Feller is in a very good fight with the Ferrari by Jack Aitken for 5th place. this group consisting of Feller (Abt Sportsline), Kevin van der Linde (Abt Sportsline) and Jack Aitken is wild. They are joined by Bortolotti and Franck Perera who is glued to his teammate's rear wing.

• After 9 laps of racing, Preining gained a little distance from Olsen. It's more than a second that separates the two Manthey EMA boys.

• Mirko Bortolotti is still 7th in this round. He is 29 points behind, which for the moment gives the title to the Austrian, content because there are only 28 points left to distribute in the Sunday race. The dream is underway for him for Preining unless the Lamborghini driver manages to move up a rank!

• It was Aitken and Feller who opened the supply salvo together. The two cars leave the pits in the same order. Great stop for SSR Performance which allows Bortolotti to pass Kevin van der Linde in the pits, he is now 6th.

• When they returned to the track, the two drivers crossed paths with Jack Aitken at the wheel of the Emil Frey Racing Ferrari.

• The three men will then offer one of the most beautiful passes of arms of this 2023 season. For 2 laps, they will pass each other using all the surface authorized by the Hockenheim circuit. The Swiss passes the Italian after having rubbed his wheels well on the Lambo who is not discouraged despite the lost places!

• On the 16th lap, the leader Preining is in the pits. Everything goes well for him who emerges in front of Olsen.

• After the pit stops, the classification is as follows: Preining ahead of Olsen Engelhart and Feller.

• Bortolotti's finish is absolutely superb. The Lamborghini official will successively pass van der Linde and Aitken in high-flying overtakes. Now 5th in the race, the Transalpine offers himself a reprieve with 27 points difference between him and Preining, it will take a very strong performance from “Borto” for him to win this season.

• Thomas Preining wins his second race of the season ahead of his teammate Dennis Olsen. This double offers the team title to Olaf Manthey's men 20 years old in the year of their return after 20 years of absence in the German championship.

• For Thomas Preining, only 3 more points are needed to conclude this 2023 season. In view of his performance today, the Austrian can be confident for the last race of the season.

• Christian Engelhart completes the race podium. Franck Perera finished 14th.
