Lucas Auer dominated Race 1 of the DTM at the Lausitzring to claim his second victory in the space of three races. The Austrian retained his pole advantage and remained in the lead until the checkered flag.
Robert Wickens scored twice Mercedes by regaining the second place that Maxime Martin (BMW) coveted. The Belgian took the advantage over the Canadian but ultimately failed at the foot of the podium behind René Rast (Audi) who took the advantage in the stopping game.
Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) completed the top five ahead of the Mercedes of Gary Paffett and Edoardo Mortara. Mattias Ekström (Audi) took 8th place ahead of Maro Engel (Mercedes) and Jamie Green (Audi) who saves a point but is now 17 points behind the leader while remaining his closest opponent. Loïc duval (Audi) finished in 15th place.
