If Gary Paffett is still in the race for the title of champion of DTM, the Briton now has very little chance of getting his second reward in the discipline. With nine points behind the leader, he will have to hope for a failure from his two rivals and win to dream of the title.
Bruno Spengler is much better placed. The most Alsatian of the Canadians regained control of the general classification thanks to the last race, at Adria, during which Paul di Resta crashed twice. With three points ahead of the Scot, Spengler is in an ideal situation. A second place would be enough for him to secure the final reward.
« By finishing third at Adria, I was able to regain the lead in the championship and arrive in an ideal position in Shanghai for the DTM final., confides Spengler. I am expecting an exciting race, and above all very physically difficult. I can win the title and I will do my best to achieve it. It will certainly be a tough battle. »
