Fifth in the championship race last Sunday at Navarra, Christian Hohenadel and Andrea Piccini occupy third place in the general classification of the GT1 World Championship. With 20 points behind the leaders, the duo of?Aston Martin DB9 n°4 of Hexis AMR remains in the running to take the world crown at the end of the year. Hohenadel believes in it.
“This track (Navarra, editor’s note) is probably the worst for our car, explains the German. We had a very difficult weekend. But Hexis AMR prepared a good car for us, and with our two 5th places, we made the most of it. We suffered a little during battles with our rivals, as we defended our position. But we made no mistakes, and managed to make the most of this complicated situation. The most important thing is that we have gleaned points and reduced the gap on the pair occupying 2nd place in the general classification. We are still well placed in the championship. »
During the French round, next week at Paul-Ricard, the outgoing FIA GT3 European champion and his acolytes will be keen to make the Hexis team, which will be playing at home, shine.
