Mako and Martin aim for victory in Ordos

Undeniably, the Ford GT lacks power compared to its rivals. And if sometimes the No. 41 of the Marc VDS Racing Team manages to get into the lead, we only owe it to the talent of the Makowiecki-Martin pair. The fact remains that at Paul-Ricard in July, the talent of the Franco-Belgian duo was not enough, the coupe bearing the blue oval was never in the running.

This weekend in China, for the penultimate round of the FIA GT1 world championship, Marc VDS Racing is more confident, the event taking place at Ordos, a winding circuit which should highlight the chassis qualities of the car .

“The Paul-Ricard meeting was very complicated, underlines Maxime Martin. It was almost impossible for us to compete with the faster cars on a circuit with such straights. Ordos should suit our car more, despite the fact that there is also a straight line of fairly reasonable length. We had some victories in qualifying races this year, but things didn't always go the right way for us in the championship races. Hopefully we can rectify the situation with success this weekend. With three races still to go, we don't have much time left. »

After the first day, the No. 41 Ford GT seems rather in good spirits since it set the second time in free practice and pre-qualifying practice.
