24 H. Off Road: Vigouroux, again!

Routed within sight of the Xaluca Hotel, which hosts the 24 Hours Off Road caravan, the Erfoud round route was short (19 km), but difficult, as it included many off-road sections. However, a violent sandstorm rose this Wednesday, making the visibility of landmarks very uncertain. As a result, the organizer reduced the round by two hours, for safety reasons.

If the group start was spectacular, very quickly the competitors scattered in the dunes. Eric Vigouroux and his teammate Alex Winocq, like true professionals, lined up the laps without any problem, regularly lowering their times over the passages: “When we were sure of the course, we began to fine-tune our trajectories and improve our times . By taking two or three laps from our main competitors, we protect ourselves from a possible mechanical problem,” underlined the Trophy Truck Chevrolet driver.

Second in Marrakech, second in Erfoud, the buggy of Hugues Lacam and Mickael Caze once again impressed. As for Georges Lansac's Protruck, he lost one more lap due to a puncture, finishing three laps behind the leaders.

In the general classification, it is of course the Trophy Truck of Eric Vigouroux which leads the way, with three laps ahead of Lacam-Caze and four over Lansac-Davoy-Skilton.

On Thursday, the day will begin with a 300km transfer to Zagora, then competitors will tackle a 33km loop for six hours, weather permitting?
