Dakar 2014 – The first information

These are the first details. First of all there are the dates: the 2014 edition of the Dakar will take place from January 5 to 18. The start will be from Rosario, Argentina, and the finish will take place, just like this year, in Chile. However, it is the city of Valparaiso which will receive the honor of welcoming the pilots at the end of their efforts, instead of Santiago, the capital, which was chosen this year to close the event.

Two countries will be crossed by cars in 2014: Argentina and Chile. If the arrival of Bolivia has been confirmed for next year, it will only concern motorcycles and quads while the course will be separated for two stages. While two-wheelers and quadricycles will venture into the Bolivian deserts, cars and trucks will go directly to Chile.

Surprise on the other hand: the 2014 Dakar will not stop in Peru despite the immense popular success encountered there. The organizers, however, specified that the rally-raid will most certainly make its return to this country the following year in 2015, with a leading role.
