VIDEO – Immersed with Romain Dumas and his SuperVan at Pikes Peak

France was proudly represented at Pikes Peak during this 2023 edition. There was Raphaël Astier and Alpine who won a podium with a Alpine A110 specially prepared for the race towards the clouds. But also Romain Dumas.

The Tricolor, who was not at his first attempt in Colorado having already participated at the wheel of a Porsche notably, took the wheel of a strange car this year. Accustomed to GTs or prototypesEndurance, winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans has indeed reached the summit with the Ford Transit SuperVan 4.2, a supercharged electric van developing the equivalent of no less than 2000 horsepower.

In the United States, Romain Dumas took a very good second place ahead of Raphaël Astier and his Alpine A110 Pikes Peak special and just behind winner Robin Schute, who retained his title with his Wolf TSC-FS.

For the occasion, Ford has published a mini documentary in which he retraces the entire journey of his Transit SuperVan 4.2. From its creation, to the finish line at the summit of Pikes Peak, through the testing phase, you will discover everything about this wacky project.
