Petit beats Régal on his land

Sébastien Petit was imperial, since he won each of the race climbs. Always well placed this season, he had not yet imposed himself. He took advantage of the arrival of the French Mountain Championship in Beaujolais to do so, on Lionel Régal's terrain. This victory allows him to return to the championship since, leader, Lionel Régal has 248 points. Second, Nicolas Schatz is 224 units behind while Sébastien Petit is ten points behind second place.

In the first climb of the race, Sébastien Petit finished in 1'21"636, ahead of Nicolas Shatz by three tenths and Lionel Régal by five. We are awaiting a reaction from the five-time French Champion. She arrives on the second climb: Régal runs in 1'21"512, improving his time by six tenths, but Petit clocks in 1'21"209. In the third and final climb, Régal improved again (1'21"046) but so did Petit (1'20"711). The latter therefore won a deserved victory, his first of the season.
