Nils Andersson, Anton Marklund and Damian Litwinowicz. There are three of them who sealed the outcome of their respective championships during the weekend of Rallycross which was held in Estering (August 19 and 20).

Championship leader before the start of the festivities, Andersson was content to follow Tommi Hallman to the checkered flag, keeping his main rival and compatriot Isak Sjökvist behind him, knowing that second place was enough to win the RX2e title .

“It’s satisfying to win a championship in which everyone has the same weapons, he declared after his coronation. We worked together to find details and make the car fast. This title also belongs to Kristoffersson Motorsport, because they have a lot to do with it. I hope to be able to come back to defend them next year. »

The RX2e also welcomed the first participation of a Chinese driver. Unfortunately, Yan Zhang's event ended in a major accident at the start of the weekend.

On the Euro RX1 side, Anton Marklund won his 4th crown in the category even though he needed the same number of units to secure the trophy. However, with the title secured, the SET Promotion star found himself in a less pleasant situation in the semi-final, when contact propelled him into the barriers at the first corner.

“We knew it would be difficult to approach this season with a ten-year-old car, commented Marklund this time. Sure, we made some small improvements to the gearbox, but other than that it's been the same since Ken Block drove it in 2013-14.

It was a late decision to compete in the championship again, and as the reigning champion you are the one everyone wants to beat, He says. We still have a very experienced team, and we have done our best to stay out of problems. In the end, our consistency and patience paid off. I am very satisfied. »

The last trophy awarded during the German meeting goes to Damian Litwinowicz. The Pole won after an eventful final which pitted him against Espen Isaksætre, his teammate in the Volland Racing team. The Euro RX3 championship title eludes the Norwegian by 4 points.
