The Tunisian Rally will take place

On January 14, the political crisis and the clashes which affected Tunisia could raise fears of a cancellation of the Rally from Tunisia. Returning from the reconnaissance of the event scheduled for May 1 to 7, Stéphane Clair, the organizer, wanted to display his serenity.

« We returned this morning from a two-week stay: the country has regained its calm and the legendary hospitality of the Tunisians has not changed., he noted. On the contrary, the first “scouts” to visit after the storm, we were applauded and thanked during our visit to all the towns and villages. The revolution of January 14 left its mark but left no visible trace. The country is functioning completely normally. The port, airports, shops, hotels, cafes and restaurants are open and you can walk around day and night without worries. The atmosphere is simply more festive and more joyful ».

The change of government is also not a concern for the NPO team. “ We were also reassured by the support of the sports and tourism authorities but also that of the Ministries of the Interior and Defense, responsible for ensuring the security of the rally. Finally, the title partner of the rally, Libya Oil Tunisia, confirmed the long-term continuation of its collaboration. All indicators are therefore green for the Rally to celebrate its 30th edition next May. », underlined Stéphane Clair.

The 2011 route will be divided into six stages, exclusively traced in Tunisia. In total, competitors will cover more than 1550 kilometers of timed course, with less than 250 kilometers of liaison.
