Who will succeed Schatz?

On his Lola F3000, the title holder appears to be best equipped to succeed himself in the series of “open” cars. His main challenger should be Sébastien Petit who modified his Japanese Lola seen last summer at Chamrousse to have it approved. Fabien Frantz, for his part, takes the wheel of the Reynard 92D (ex-Chambérod) which he drove in 2009 and into which he grafted a new Mugen engine.

Pending new regulations for 2012, the F3000 and 3-liter prototype grid presents few new features. On the other hand, the creation in 2010 of a production and GT championship has boosted the field of “closed” cars which have become the majority among those entered for the season. The battle promises between the Porsche 997 Cup, Opel DTM and Porsche GT3.

Finally, the icing on the cake: the Clio Cup 2s are gaining momentum with the support of Renault Sport which will be present for the first time at the Bagnols-Sabran paddock.

First round of the championship on April 2-3, in Bagnols-Sabran.
