On his lands of Höljes, Johan Kristoffersson (PSRX Volkswagen Sweden – VW Polo GTi), championship leader and winner of the last round in Norway, got the best start at the end of the first two qualifying rounds contested this Saturday.
Outstripped by Sébastien Loeb (Team Peugeot -Hansen – Peugeot 208 WRX) In Q1, Kristoffersson largely dominated Q2, setting a lap record of 2'52"393 and thus taking the advantage over Kevin Eriksson (MJP Racing Team Austria – Ford Fiesta).
Winner in Q1 and fifth in Q2, Sébastien Loeb is second in the provisional standings after this first day and ahead of Andreas Bakkerud (Hoonigan Racing Division – Ford Focus RS RX), third twice this Saturday.
Kevin Eriksson follows in fourth position ahead of double world champion Petter Solberg (PSRX Volkswagen Sweden) who completes the top 5. Timmy Hansen (Team Peugeot-Hansen) follows in sixth position ahead of the second Ford Focus RS RX of Ken Block, Niclas Gronhölm (Ford Fiesta), Kevin Hansen (Team Peugeot-Hansen), Timo Scheider (MJP Racing Team Austria) and Timur Timerzyanov (STARD – Ford Fiesta).
The first Audi S1 – EKS RX, entrusted to Reinis Nitiss, ranks in 12th position, behind the qualifying place for the semi-finals. The second car on the rings, driven this weekend by Per-Gunnar Andersson, replacement for world champion Mattias Ekström, only moved up to 17th position ahead of Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (DA Racing – Peugeot 208).
