The opening round of the Open GT, held this weekend at Portimao, in the Algarve, Portugal, was dominated by the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR 2012 from Manthey Racing. Yesterday the pair Marco Holzer-Nick Tandy beat the Ferrari 458 Italia Kessel Racing of the duo Michael Broniszewski-Philipp Peter, and the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 AF Corse of Stefano Bizzarri-Nicola Cadei, first in the GTS category. Today, Manthey Racing doubled down. The podium was this time completed by the 997 Porsche 3 GT2012 RSR from the Rouen team. Imsa Matmut performance of the French Raymond Narac and Patrick Pilet, fourth yesterday, and by the Porsche 997 GT3 R of Marco Mapelli-Archie Hamilton, first in GTS. With these two victories, Holzer and Tandy logically seize the reins of the general classification ahead of Bizzarri-Cadei and Narac-Pilet.
