So that David Brabham and simon pagenaud crown the ALMS 2010 crown, they will “simply” have to cover 70% of the distance covered by the victorious car. A task that might seem easy, but which, with more than 40 cars on track on a very complicated circuit, is in reality not at all. At Highcroft, we don't worry about Peugeot and other Audis, but competitors engaged in LMP2. At the end of qualifying, Brabham set, at the wheel of the HPD ARX-01c n°1, the third fastest time in his category behind the Lola Mazda of Dyson Racing and the Porsche RS Spyder of his rival for the title, the German Klaus Graf. But a few hours before the start, that doesn't stop Simon Pagenaud from being confident.

“We are confident, but still have 70% of the distance to cover, explains the Frenchman. I'm delighted with the car, and David and Marino (Franchitti, Editor's note) are also confident. We did a really good job, just focusing on our own race. It will be long, and a lot can happen. We are only a tenth behind the Porsche without having taken the slightest risk. Strategy and consistency will be two very important factors. Departure will be a critical moment. If you take things too lightly, you can find yourself in trouble. You have to be aggressive and smart at the same time. »
