Mads Ostberg (Ford Fiesta R5) is the first leader of the Rally from the Canary Islands (Spain) after having signed the scratch in the 24,7 km of Moya completed in 15'34"2. The Norwegian was ahead of Alexey Lykyanuk (Fiesta R5) by a tenth. Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Fiesta R5) follows about ten seconds ahead of Robert Consani (Peugeot 208 T16 R5) at 20 seconds. Antonin Tlustak (Skoda Fabia R5) lost more than eight minutes following transmission problems.
The Norwegian hit the nail on the head in the 15 km of Tejeda even though he was beaten by fourth tenths by Kajetan Kajetanowicz. Alexey Lukyanuk is now more than eight seconds behind the driver M-Sport and sees the Pole come back to less than two seconds. Robert Consani slipped to fifth position, five seconds behind Ivan Ares Roel (Fiesta R5).
