Asian Le Mans Series – Jackie Chan DC Racing scores a double in Buriram

The 6 Hours of Buriram (Thailand) was dominated by Jackie Chan DC Racing which was constantly at the forefront with its two Oreca 05s.

Despite a change of front cover at the start of the race after contact with a cone at the exit of the pits, victory went to the No. 7 of the new Malaysian crew Jazeman Jaafar, Weiron Tan and Afiq Ikhwan Yazid who took advantage of the problems of gearbox of the second LMP2 managed by Jota Sport.

Thomas Laurent, Harrison Newey and Stéphane Richelmi thus missed their third consecutive victory in the third round of the season by 1'20 behind but retain the lead of the Championship before the final in Sepang (Malaysia) contested on February 4.

The podium is completed by the Ligier JS P2 BBT entrusted to Luis Felipe Derani, Anthony Xu Liu and Davide Rizzo which failed several laps of the Oreca 05 after receiving several penalties for early departure and infringement during a refueling. The No. 37 ranks ahead of the ARC Bratislava Ligier of Miro Konopka, Konstantins Calko and Gustavo Yacaman which has constantly moved into fourth position.

Algarve Pro Racing once again lacked success. The Ligier JS P2 of Ate Dirk de Jong, Dean Koutsoumidis and John Graham retired after suffering a puncture and then contact with the Tianshi Racing Team Audi R8 LMS of Alex Au, Welan Chen and Massimilano Wiser .

The No. 3 Ligier JS P6 of Jackie Chan DC Racing entrusted to Gabriel Aubry, Guy Cosmo and Patrick Byrne could have had strong pretensions, but it ultimately failed to reach the category podium after suffering from mechanical problems blocking it for several laps. in the garage.

The Fist Team AAI BMW M6 GT3 took the GT victory with Junsan Chen, Jesse Krohn and Chaz Mostert. The Propeller car finished ahead of the Tianshi Racing Team Audi which suffered several penalties in addition to its contact.
