Asian Le Mans Series – Victory and title for Jackie Chan DC Racing at Sepang

The #05 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 8 once again dominated the Asian peloton Le Mans Series by winning the final on the Kuala Lumpur circuit in Sepang (Malaysia). With his third success in four events, Thomas Laurent, Stéphane Richelmi and Harrison Newey won the title of the premier category of the discipline.

The Chinese team managed by Jota Sport could hope for a double, but the second Oreca 05 led by Jazeman Jaafar, Weiron Tan and Afiq Ikhwan Yazid fell to tenth place after a mechanical problem occurred in the pits towards the end of the race.

Team BBT took the opportunity to take second place with the Ligier JS P2 of Luis Felipe Derani, Anthony Liu and Davide Rizzo which beat the Eurasia Motorsport Ligier JS P2 entrusted to pole sitter Nabil Jeffru, Marco Asmer and Jake Parsons.

Jackie Chan DC Racing obtains no less than two invitations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the structure in the name of the Asian star also won the LMP3 crown with the Ligier JS P3 of the new champions Guy Cosmo and Patrick Byrne who were accompanied by Gabriel Aubry. The team notably benefited from a one-minute stop & go inflicted on the KCMG LMP3 driven by Josh Burdon, Louis Prette and Neric Wei who had to settle for second place. The #11 Taiwan Beer GH Motorsport of Hanss Lin and Shaun Thong completed the category podium.

It was the Fist Team AAI which claimed the laurels of the GT category with its BMW M6 GT3 of Junsan Chen, Jesse Krohn and Markus Palttala which achieved its third success of the season. The team also receives two invitations for the next edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
