Asian LMS – Jackie Chan DC Racing triumphs in Buriram

Ho-Pin Tung, Thomas Laurent and Gustavo Menezes achieved an uncontested success in the third round of the Asian Le Mans Series 2016-2017.

Starting from pole position, the residents of the Oreca 03R of the Jackie Chan DC Racing, despite a drive-through for overtaking under yellow flag, dominated almost the entire 4 Hours of Buriram to win under the checkered flag with a comfortable lead of 1'22"332 over the no. 2 of the Algarve Pro Racing of Roda – McMurry – Pizzitola.

The overall podium is completed by the second Algarve Pro Racing Ligier JS P2 of Munemann – Kim – Patterson, three laps behind.

ARC Bratislava signs the double in LM P3, the first Konopka–Burke–Simpson Ginetta finishing in 9th place overall. The second Ginetta of Muston – Calko, 10th, failed at 177 thousandths. The category podium is completed by the Ligier JS P3 of G-Print by Triple 1 Racing of Lin – Thong Wei Fung – Ohtsuka.

In GT, Ferrari continues its unchallenged domination, with a second consecutive success for DH Racing. The 488 GT3 of Lémeret – Vaxivière – Rugolo initially won the finish line, but a 24″ penalty was inflicted on the trio “for driving too slowly in the pit lane”, thus offering victory to the team's second Ferrari 488, driven by Rino Mastronardi, Alex Riberas and Olivier Beretta.

Rugolo, Vaxivière and Lémeret finally finished 3rd behind the No. 488 Ferrari 3 GT37 of Team BBT of Liu – Rizzo – Pier Guidi. The final round of the 2016-2017 Asian Le Mans Series will take place from January 20 to 22 in Sepang, Malaysia.
