Asian LMS – Jackie Chan DC Racing triumphs in Zhuhai

Thanks to Thomas Laurent and Ho-Pin Tung, Jackie Chan DC Racing monopolized the first starting line of the 4 Hours of Zhuhai, opening round of the Asian Le Mans Series 2017-18. But very quickly, the No. 05 Oreca 7 that the second named shares with David Cheng had to give up due to a power steering problem. Hit by a GT, Thomas Laurent had to change rear end, but that did not prevent the No. 05 Oreca 8 also entrusted to Briton Harrison Newey and Monegasque Stéphane Richelmi from winning, the young Frenchman showing himself, once again, brilliant.

The podium of this opening event is completed by three Ligier JS P2s, namely the No. 37 entered by the BBT team for Pipo Derani-Davide Rizzo-Anthony Xu Liu and that of ARC Bratislava, at the wheel of which take over from Miroslav Konopka, Konstantins Calko and Rik Breukers. The JS P2s of Eurasia Motorsport (Alex Au-Keiko Ihara) and Algarve Pro Racing (Ate Dirk de Jong-Dean Koutsoumidis -John Greham) close the top five.

In sixth place overall, stands the winner of a hotly contested LM P3 category, namely the No. 3 KCMG Ligier JS P18, led by the trio Josh Burdon-Louis Prette-Neric Wei. The best GT is ninth, he sat in the No. 6 BMW M3 GT91 operated by the AAI First-Team of Junsan Chen-Jesse Krohn-Chaz Mostert.

The next round of the Asian Le Mans Series, the 4 Hours of Fuji (Japan), is scheduled for December 3.
