Asian LMS – Victory and title for Algarve Pro Racing at Sepang

The No. 2 Ligier JS P25-Nissan of Pizzitola-Roda-Read gave Algarve Pro Racing the only victory of the season by winning in the final at Sepang (Malaysia), but it was enough to offer the title to the Portuguese stable.

The latter notably benefited from the abandonment of the Oreca 03R-Nissan of Jackie Chan DC Racing driven by Tung-Menezes-Laurent, victim of an accident at the start with the Oreca 03R-Judd of Race Performance entrusted to Maggi- Moore-Schiller. The crew of the No. 8 was finally able to take 2nd place by 8 seconds ahead of the second Algarve Pro Racing Ligier JS P3 of Munemann-Kim-Patterson.

In LMP3, it was Tockwith Motorsports which won the victory and the title with the Ligier JS P3 of Nigel Moore and Phil Hanson which won with around ten seconds ahead of the Ligier JS P3 of the G-Print by Triple 1 Racing, itself preceding the Ligier JS P2 of Jackie Chan DC Racing of Winslow-Cheng-Yoshida by 3 seconds.

Team Audi Korea created a surprise by taking victory in GT with the R8 LMS GT3 of You-Lee-Yoong victorious with a 12s lead over the Ferrari 488 GT3 n°3 of DH Racing driven by Mastronardi-Riberas-Beretta. If the podium is completed by the Ferrari of Team BBT of Liu-Rizzo-Pier Guidi, 5th place was enough for the F488 n°5 of DH Racing of Lemeret-Rugolo-Vaxivière to secure the coronation by finishing behind the Ferrari of Sun-Sawa-Griffin’s Clearwater Racing.
