For over 100 years, Pikes Peak has welcomed drivers and cars from around the world, but for the first time, Alpine will be there. THE'Alpine 110 GT4 Evo will enter the race towards the clouds with Raphaël Astier at the wheel. The Frenchman notably won the FIA R-GT Cup last year with an A arrow car. He will register for a fifth participation in the Colorado race, his third of which was marked by a record in the Time Attack 1 category: 9'23”721 to cover the almost 20km and some 156 bends of Pikes Peak.

« It is an honor to take part in this adventure initiated byAlpine and Signatech after two years of competition in theAlpine 110 Rally, declares the Frenchman. I am extremely proud to be the driver chosen for this program and I look forward to bringing all my experience and knowledge to this first participation of the franchise at Pikes Peak. »

« Even if victory is not the goal, he admits, I'm confident that our A110 GT4 Evo will perform well in this category, and I can't wait to see what we can achieve ! »

Philippe Sinault, general manager of Signatech, explains how the desire to participate in Pikes Peak was born at A fléché: “ Each of us was impressed by the iconic images of this climb, and this dream made its way to our team while watching a documentary on Pikes Peak on a sleepless night during testing in Spain. »

« We know very well that this is a very specific and different exercise on an atypical race, a hybrid between the hill climb and the special. But this makes the technical and sporting challenge even more motivating, continues the general manager. Above all, we want to register the name ofAlpine in this event, and this very first participation will allow us to compare ourselves to others in this category. »

For Sinault, this participation in the American hill climb is also a way of promoting Alpine in all motorsport disciplines: “ This commitment also allows us to consolidate the position ofAlpine as a franchise with a large footprint in motorsport, with the three Grands Prix of Formula 1 in the United States as well as 1000 Miles of Sebring. »

If the A110 GT4 Evo will only begin its ascent in Colorado on June 25, Alpine will be there from March 17 at Sebring with two cars in LM P2. As for Formula 1, Esteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly will take their A523 to American soil for the first time this season in Miami, from May 5 to 7.
