Final: Jota Sport wins, G-Drive champion

On paper favorite with a three-star crew, Jota Sport finally met expectations in Abu Dhabi, where it won both races. On Sunday during the final, the No. 28 Oreca of Sean Gelael and Tom Blomqvist fought an intense battle with the No. 25 G-Drive Racing car in the hands of John Falb, Franco Colapinto and Rui Pinto de Andrade, during the four hours of racing. Despite a collision by Sean Gelael which caused him to temporarily lose his lead, Jota was able to win by less than a second.

But it is G-Drive which wins the title and the invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In LMP3, United Autosports scored a hat-trick, with the No. 23 Ligier of Manuel Maldonado, Rory Penttinen and Wayne Boyd winning the race as well as the championship and the invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In GT, GPX Racing did well to secure an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans before the final. The Emirati team had problems on Sunday and was unable to play a leading role. Victory goes to the Ferrari n057 of Kessel Racing in the hands of Takeshi Kimura, Come Ledogar and Mikkel Jensen who saved the honor of the Ferraris. Five of them were involved in a collision and had to abandon.

Behind, the battle for the podium was exceptional. In the last ten minutes, the Porsche of Herbert Motorsport initially occupied second position, but was passed by McLaren of Inception Racing driven by Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy, Ben Barnicoat and the #55 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari in the hands of Rino Mastronardi, David Perel and Davide Rigon to finish in fourth place.

Despite this final disappointment, the German team pocketed the GT title, just ahead of GPX Racing. Both teams have their ticket to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as do Rinaldi Racing, third in the championship, and Inception Racing, fourth.
