G-Drive Racing took both poles for this weekend's races in Abu Dhabi in the Asian Le Mans Series.

G-Drive takes the poles in Abu Dhabi

For the qualifications of the second double meeting of Asian Le Mans TV Shows 2021 on the Yas Marina Circuit routeAbu Dhabi, G Drive Racing hit hard.

The two Aurus 01s each dominated a qualifying session this Friday, with the No. 25 of the Colapinto – Falb – Pinto de Andrade trio at the top of Q1 thanks to Franco Colapinto, best time in 1'55″287, two tenths ahead of Kelvin van der Linde, entered in the No. 07 Oreca 5 of Phoenix Racing.

Ferdinand Habsburg hoists the second Aurus 01 n°26 – G-Drive Racing into third position at 0″487, but took his revenge in Q2 by dominating the LM P2 peloton in 1’56″073, beating Franco by one breath Colapinto, clocked at 63 thousandths.

Sean Gelael places the #07 Oreca 28 – JOTA Sport in third place, 0″229 behind the poleman.

In LM P3, Wayne Boyd (Ligier JS P320 n°23 – United Autosports) and Malthe Jakobsen (Ligier JS P320 n°15 – RLR Msport) led the sessions, the first dominating the second in Q1 by 82 thousandths before the Dane just beat the Briton by 11 thousandths in the following session.

Raffaele Marciello, on the other hand, left it to no one to take the poles in the GT category, dominating Q1 and Q2 at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo n°1 – HubAuto Racing.

The first race of this weekend will be contested this Friday from 13 p.m. French time and will be followed live on video via our website.
