The Asian Le Mans Series unveils its 2020-2021 calendar

As for calendars 2019-2020 WEC and ELMS 2020, the Asian Le Mans Series first emphasized in the preamble that the calendar presented was only a provisional version, subject to modification depending on the evolution of the Coronavirus crisis.

Continuing to gain momentum, the Asian Le Mans Series will begin, for the first time in its history, in Japan on November 29. And for the first time, she will go to the legendary Suzuka circuit and no longer to Fuji.

For the rest, only the traditional, namely passages through Shanghai (China) on December 13, Buriram (Thailand) on January 9 – for Children's Day – then Sepang (Malaysia) on January 23, scene of the final. A more condensed calendar than usual.

Decision was made not to return to The Bend (Australia) for budgetary reasons. And for good reason, we should be in the middle of an economic crisis following the coronavirus pandemic.

To limit costs, this lowering of the curtain earlier than usual will allow the European and American teams to return to their bases by boat and not by plane, which will result in significant savings.

On a technical level, the old LM P2s will no longer be eligible, even in LM P2 Am. In LM P3, the new generation should also arrive, namely the Ligier JS P320, Ginetta G61-LT-P3, Duqueine D08 and others Adess-03 Evo.

2020-2021 Calendar:

  • November 29, 2020: Suzuka (Japan)
  • December 13, 2020: Shanghai (China)
  • January 9, 2021: Buriram (Thailand)
  • January 23, 2021: Sepang (Malaysia)
