Guerlain Chicherit and Special ONE Racing will not be in World RX in 2024

According to the latest news, Special ONE Racing, still awaiting the conclusion of the FIA ​​investigation, was preparing for the 2024 season. This was supposed to mark his return to World RX after the fire which unfortunately destroyed the Lancia Delta by Guerlain Chicherit and Sébastien Loeb.

But the initial plan ultimately fell apart. Unsurprisingly, the car reconstruction phase is very long, which thwarts Special ONE Racing's return project in 2024 after missing the last 4 meetings in 2023. Faced with this situation, the French structure, closely linked to Guerlain Chicherit, has decided to give up World RX in 2024.

« This year, it is certain that we will not participate, assured us Guerlain Chicherit in Saudi Arabia where he is preparing to compete in the Dakar (January 5-19). The cars having burned last year, they have not even started to be rebuilt. We are in discussions with service providers to determine how we will be compensated. 2024 will therefore revolve around rally-raid for the French pilot who recently announced the start of a collaboration with his counterpart Guillaume de Mévius. A Franco-Belgian alliance which will begin at the Dakar and will extend over several seasons in the World Rally-Raid Championship, W2RC, with Toyota Hilux T1+.
