Taesch Wahlen leaves management of the Asian Le Mans Series

Frédéric Lequien will replace Cyrille Taesch Wahlen from May 28, 2021 at the head of Asian Le Mans Endurance Management.

Taesch Wahlen leaves management of the Asian Le Mans Series

A few months after the end of the sixth season of Asian Le Mans Series (Asian LMS), the organization of the endurance championship is preparing to change its appearance. Arriving at the head of the discipline on March 1, 2015, Frenchman Cyrille Taesch Wahlen will give up his place at the end of May 2021.

Cyrille Taesch Wahlen has indeed decided to give “a new direction for one’s professional career”. “These years spent at the head of ALMEM organizing and promoting the Asian Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup have been rich and intense.he says. The growth of the championship, both on a sporting level and in its recognition and media coverage, is the fruit of the work accomplished since 2015.

I have a special thought for all the people who work tirelessly to make the Asian Le Mans Series an unmissable event, and in particular its fantastic team. I would also like to thank our partners for their unwavering support over these years. I am proud to have participated in the emergence of this championship and its positioning in the motorsport landscape, whose notoriety and popularity continue to grow, year after year. »

The President of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), Pierre Fillon, wanted to highlight the work carried out by Cyrille Taesch Wahlen. “Thanks to Cyrille's work, the Asian Le Mans Series is now an integral part of the racing pyramid.Endurance. Several figures allow us to measure the attractiveness of this championship: in 2021, 36 crews entered – a record – competed on the track; 12 new teams were there for the 4 races on the program.

The Asian Le Mans Series has found its place in the Endurance landscape and I would like to sincerely thank Cyrille, who worked for more than six years at the head of this championship and also salute his skills here. I wish him the best in the rest of his professional career. »

Cyrille Taesch Wahlen will be replaced by Frédéric Lequien, current Managing Director of Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM).
