The final round of the Asian Le Mans Series 2023 was decided at the end of a final stint full of suspense, this Sunday February 19 on the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. L'earca 07 of DKR Engineering, often placed but never winning in the three previous races of the winter campaign, closed in apotheosis with victory and the title.

The Turks Salih Yoluc and Ayhançan Güven, as well as the Irishman Charlie Eastwood, bring the Luxembourg team the first title in the Asian Le Mans Series. “ It was a new team for the drivers and the car was relatively unknown to us before the start of the championship, explains Charlie Eastwood. When there was a lot of pressure in this race, the team did not make a mistake. »

“It was a new challenge for me, because I had never driven in LM P2 before participating in these two weeks of the Asian Le Mans Series, completes Ayhançan Güven. But the team gave me confidence. » The 99 Racing team, led by the Russian ex-driver of Formula 1 Nikita mazepin, associated with Neel Jani and Ahmad Al Harthy finished a handful of seconds behind, in 2nd place. The winners of Saturday's race, Malthe Jakobsen and Alexandre Coigny (COOL Racing), complete the podium.

In LM P3, the French team Graff Racing is titled with Xavier Lloveras-François Hériau-Fabrice Rossello. In GT, the Haupt Racing Team outrageously dominated its rivals. Martin Konrad, Luca Stolz and Al Faisal Al Zubair (Mercedes) won ahead of the BMW M4 of Nicky Catsburg-Chandler Hull-Thomas Merrill. However, it is the latter that are sacred.
