Alessandro, what is Asian Le Mans Series represents for you?

This is not the first time that I have participated in this championship (four participations in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Editor's note). This is the second year that this format in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is taking place and people are enjoying it. I really enjoy this series, I think riding over a short period of time at these two locations is the key to its success. There are a lot of cars, the line-ups are very competitive and it won't be easy. We drove in private tests this Friday morning, but everyone's performance level will be clearer after Free Practice.

You have already done the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 9 Hours Kyalami this year, now you are on the Asian, the season of WEC starts in a month... Are you tireless?

Indeed, it’s a very busy time! Honestly, after the Asian, I'm going to take two weeks off to rest a little. Kyalami was not planned for this period, but we could not do otherwise with the health situation (the 9 Hours of Kyalami, planned for December, were postponed to the beginning of February due to Covid-19. Editor's note). There is always time to rest, in the meantime I'm piloting!

The past season was exceptional for you. Do you think you can achieve the same this year?

It will be difficult. Even if we win everything we want, it's something we've already done by now. Of course, we always ride to win and we will try to repeat that, but it is very difficult, because the level is extremely high and I don't expect to live the same year. I would already be happy to win just a few of the races I was able to win in 2021.

Is the Asian Le Mans Series a good preparation for the rest of the season?

Being in the car is the best workout possible! You can prepare as much as you want, whether it's on a bike, at the gym or whatever you want, but the best preparation is being behind the wheel.
