The ACO and ALMEM partner with SRO for the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest and Asian Le Mans Endurance Management took advantage of the last round of the 2021 season of WEC to announce a tripartite agreement with the SRO group for the organization of the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series. A first step in the arrival of the GT3 platform in 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 since this arrangement also brings two invitations this edition, which will be awarded to the winner of the GT World Challenge Europe as well as the winner of the combined classification of the GT World Challenge Asia and the Asian Le Mans Series. 

“This joint collaboration is the best way to ensure the success and development of the Asian Le Mans Series, the expertise of the three companies will be beneficial for the competitors. Alongside the ACO, Stéphane played an important role in the creation of the European Le Mans Series and we share many of the same values ​​regarding the vision of our sport”, explains Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO. “I would also like to thank the ACO and LMEM for awarding an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, which illustrates the determination of our organizations to work together for the global success of the category GT. as the start of a very exciting period for our sport and SRO is delighted to play its part”, added Stéphane Ratel, founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group.

 

“Build something strong”

For Pierre Fillon, “It is important to remember that the Asian European Le Mans Series is an integral part of the Endurance pyramid in the same way as the European Le Mans Series and it is important to continue to attract young Asian drivers to the 24 Hours” . “If we can bring European drivers to come and push the category, we can build something strong”, judge Stéphane Ratel.

Frédéric Lequien, CEO of Le Mans Endurance Management, also spoke on this subject: “We are very excited to work with Stéphane and the SRO Motorsports Group team to ensure the continued success of the Asian Le Mans Series.
