Picked up on two circuits in February 2022 (Dubaï Autodrome and Yas Marina), the Asian Le Mans Series is not experiencing a slump on the entry side, on the contrary! No less than 39 cars have confirmed their presence in the championship organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).

The number prize goes to the GT3. The category attracted 25 cars from six different manufacturers, unprecedented for the Asian Le Mans Series. Walkenhorst Motorsport will take the opportunity to debut two new BMW M4 GT3 freshly purchased from BMW Motorsport.

L’écurie allemande y affrontera les champions GT 2021, leurs compatriotes du Herberth Motorsports avec Porsche, tandis que le Rinaldi Racing, titré en GT3 Am, revient en GT3 mais aussi en LM P3.

As for the prototypes, the Nielsen Racing, Graff Racing, ARC Bratislava and, for the first time, High Class Racing teams will be in the spotlight in LM P2. Ten LM P3s are registered, including the arrival of Koiranen Kemppi Motorsport, a structure specialized in promotional formulas in the 2000s and 2010s.

Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, declared: “This new season of the Asian Le Mans Series once again looks promising. With 39 cars from different backgrounds, the show on the track will be exciting. The competitors will be able to battle during a fortnight which will see them compete on two circuits, day and night. See you on February 11 in Dubai to launch this event awaited by the entire endurance community. »

“It’s very positive to see such a strong grid for the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series, confirms Frédéric Lequien, General Director of the Asian Le Mans Series. I would like to congratulate the entire Asian Le Mans Series team who have worked incredibly hard to deliver such a powerful grid. I would also like to thank our teams, our partners Michelin and TotalEnergies, as well as Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit for their constant support. This season will be my first with the championship, and I'm really looking forward to working with everyone to deliver a season full of exciting racing! »
