It was not just the calendar of WEC 2024 which was unveiled this Friday, at Le Mans. A few moments after that of the World ChampionshipEndurance, the Asian calendar Le Mans Series was also made public. Big announcement for the next campaign of the Asian championship: the return of the Sepang circuit, in Malaysia.

Absent from the calendar since 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malaysian route returns in a more “Asian” calendar, after several seasons spent in the Middle East for the ALMS. A calendar which therefore includes five events, including two in Malaysia, one in Dubai (UAE) and two in Abu Dhabi (UAE). The season will begin in December 2023 with the two rounds at Sepang, ending as usual in mid-February at the Yas Marina circuit.

The LM P2 category, which will no longer be admitted to the WEC next year, will still be the premier category of the ALMS, a championship which will grant invitations to the 24 2024 Hours of Le Mans, where 15 places will be reserved for the LM P2s.
